The Vihtavuori N550 Rifle Propellant - 454g is rifle powder that was originally developed for 30-06 Springfield and 308 Winchester calibers in the late 90’s. The N550 is ideal for many 30 caliber magnums and lighter bullets however can also be used for a wide range of bore sizes in various shooting disciplines, excelling in 30-06 Spr hunting rounds with heavier bullets.

The N550 is a tubular powder type with symmetrical grain dimensions of 1mm in length and diameter. Nitroglycerin has been added to get better energy content. The burning rate is similar to that of the N150 rifle powder. Higher velocity is acquired with equal pressure compared to the N100 series without the extra wear on the rifle.
